Hello everyone,

Whitehall is bustling with individuals who fancy themselves as experts. I can attest to knowing a few who have never set foot in the establishment. As for the rumors circulating (much like Bullwinkle's "Mr. Know-it-all"), it’s said that the restaurant is on the brink of being sold, but that's far from the truth. It appears that some people are eager to have the inside scoop and revel in gossip to feel important. If you’re looking for the real story, we warmly invite you to come to the restaurant, enjoy a meal, and we'll gladly discuss our current status during your visit and end it with some coconut cake.

We’ve had to adjust our restaurant hours to better accommodate our staff and give our hardworking Chef Ratree a lighter workload. Our new hours are 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., allowing guests to enjoy their meals without feeling rushed. While we know some local busine sses will miss our lunch service, staffing challenges in both the kitchen and front of house made it di fficult to continue. If you or someone you know is interested in joining our team, please stop by.

The boys are keeping busy with their own pursuits. Donald has reduced his hours here due to college and his internship at Whitehall Hospital, and we’re glad to see him on this exciting new career path. Deven, now a high school sophomore, is all about basketball, with practices and games filling much of his schedule. As for me, I’m tied up with projects that involve traveling to various job sites, keeping me on the go from time to time.

Our future plans

We are planning to retire in 2028, though we will keep the restaurant open throughout this transition. This is why we posted the "Restaurant for Sale" header—should someone be interested in taking over this establishment.

Soon, we will be heading to THAILAND, where snow is only a sight in photos. She has been here for 20 years, and I plan to be there for the next 20, God willing. In the meantime, we want to spend some quality moments with our children before our youngest finishes high school. Managing the Thai Esan Grill consumes much of our time, which takes away from enjoyable moments with the boys. Maybe take up some fishing in the meantime.

Deven is truly thriving in baseball and it seems poised to take him to remarkable places around the globe. Next July, he has been recruited to play for "Team America" and will travel to Germany for a week-long tournament.

Meanwhile, Donald is pursuing a medical career with the aim of becoming a doctor—it's amusing to think that one day we might call him "Doc Don." He commutes to La Crosse to fulfill his training as an EMT, then plans to move on to Paramedic while continuing his college education to complete his MCT.

Thanks To All that has been so patient.

The Chef Ratree and I would like to thank you for your support and patience as we work thru the soft openings. We have streamline some of our process and added another Thai cook Thamyathon. She also is from the northeast section of Thailand and knows Ratree's style of cooking so, this will be a great addition to the team. Are experiences with the vendors is a work in progress to get us all the items we need to run the full menu, this has been a tenuous task and god willing we will get there.

We will be opening up the lunch service starting Friday 12/8/2023. Now this will involved more attempts at getting it right so, we can get orders out in a timely manner based on how many customers are placing orders. We may have to place in a lunch menu for takeout. As for dine in customers, will try to accommodate available menu items for the proper experience.

So thank you all and we really hope you enjoy the food!! It will get better each week since the staff are too learning all the ingredients of what goes into every dish. Now stay tuned for future blogs on our path to make this restaurant one of the greats in the area.
